New SNA Application Note: Multi-node and Multi-channel Capture
6-Nov-2008: Daintree has added a new SNA application note to its library.
In the simplest live capture, you use a single device to capture data from a single channel. There are also instances where you will want to perform one of the following types of "multi" capture:
- Multi-channel capture, where different capture devices can capture on different channels. Ideal for capturing from multiple networks, or from a single network that uses dynamic channel assignment.
- Multi-node capture, where multiple capture devices can capture simultaneously on the same channel and duplicate packets can be used to provide a timestamp synchronization mechanism. Ideal for dispersed networks where some devices may be outside the range of a single capture device.
This application note describes how to use the SNA to perform both types of multi captures.
