Daintree Networks SNA Release 2.3 Now Shipping
FREMONT, CA — July 30, 2008 — Daintree Networks, Inc. today
announced shipment of the latest release of its popular Sensor Network Analyzer
(SNA). The SNA has been enhanced to provide support for testing and monitoring
ZigBee® Smart Energy networks, and is designed to help developers of Smart Energy
products achieve ZigBee certification and get to market faster.
Daintree's SNA provides the industry's most comprehensive solution for both the
development and deployment of IEEE 802.15.4™ and ZigBee® systems. This standards-based
tool keeps up-to-date with the latest ZigBee specifications to help ensure compliance
and interoperability.
This latest release provides full decodes for the Smart Energy application
profile and support for ZigBee PRO Smart Energy Security (Key Establishment). New
functionality includes the ability to use the SNA to start or join a network using Key
Establishment security (to independently test security implementation), and to send
Smart Energy messages to trigger responses from devices under test.
The SNA's new Smart Energy functionality was used extensively during the recent
ZigBee Alliance Smart Energy certification process, culminating in certification of 17
Smart Energy products. These products enable a broad range of services designed to help
utility companies worldwide implement systems for managing energy and help consumers
improve their own energy efficiency, all with multi-vendor product interoperability.
(You can find more information about these products on the ZigBee Alliance web site at www.zigbee.org.)
"It was exciting to be part of the ZigBee Smart Energy certification
process," said Lisa Ardern, Daintree Networks Director of Support. "We
used the SNA to help with the testing and certification of a wide variety of products
from different companies, and everyone felt a great sense of achievement at the end of
the event when all products achieved certification."
"Daintree is happy to now be offering this same functionality to the broader
community. This latest SNA release will help those who are developing and testing
ZigBee Smart Energy products get to market faster," said Lisa.
Not only does Daintree's SNA provide full support for ZigBee Smart Energy, it also
includes an extensive selection of tools for development, testing, deployment and
management of ZigBee solutions, including unique visualization that shows network
operation visually, full protocol decodes to drill down and get detailed information
about every packet, extensive measurements to determine performance and critical
metrics, and a commissioning tool that helps to hide the complexity of ZigBee
deployment.
Daintree’s analysis solutions also form a cornerstone of the conformance test
platforms used to independently verify compliance with the standard by the Alliance’s
two official test labs, including solutions from Wireless Glue Networks.
