Home / Solutions / Monitoring and maintenance
After your network and devices are installed, you need to keep an eye on them to ensure optimum operation and performance.
Even though mesh networks are self-healing and can reroute themselves around faulty or unavailable devices, they're not yet clever enough to fix or replace those problem devices. That's where monitoring and maintenance comes in.
A monitoring solution should allow you to observe the network in real time, clearly identifying device associations, unavailable or unresponsive devices, and measurements such as link quality and battery/power levels. It's also useful to be able to run a scan on the network to locate any lost devices or those with weak signals.
You also want to be able to capture network information for offline and in-depth analysis to help track down and troubleshoot intermittent and other hard-to-locate problems.
After locating problems, it's time to do the maintenance part. Ideally, you want a solution that allows you to remotely fix as many problems as possible (such as reconfiguring devices, changing or updating device bindings, upgrading device firmware, managing security settings, and forcing devices to join or leave a specific network).
To top it all off, you want this solution to be intuitive enough that someone who is not an expert in the underlying technology is still able to keep their network running.
Daintree's winning solution
With Daintree's Professional edition Sensor Network Analyzer, and one or more 2400E Sensor Network Adapters (or other devices capable of "active" analysis), you can do all this and more.
Not only is this the right solution for the job, you're re-using the same tools you used during development and commissioning: so no new investment is required and there's nothing new to learn.
